From his dad’s workshop
to his own.
Angus’s interest in European cars began at 14, tinkering with BMWs in his father’s workshop after school and during the holidays.
He completed his automotive apprenticeship in 2004 and worked with Alfa Romeo, BMW and other European makes before becoming a factory-trained technician at Mercedes-Benz Adelaide.
In 2010, he founded Mitchell Automotive, bringing that experience to an independent workshop in Edwardstown.
Angus oversees the work and values a direct conversation about what’s been found and what your car needs next.

Motorcycles, European cars and historic racing have all been part of the family’s work in Adelaide.
Murray Mitchell
Angus’s grandfather ran a motorcycle sales and repair business at 91 Glen Osmond Road.
His original advertisement set out a simple promise to customers, and that personal approach is still part of the family story.
Andrew Mitchell
Angus’s father ran Andrew Mitchell Auto for around 30 years on Belair Road in Hawthorn.
He specialised in European vehicle servicing and historic racing cars, giving Angus a place to learn and a passion to follow.

The 3rd generation of Adelaide mechanics, Angus established Mitchell Automotive with European vehicle experience and a belief in honest, personal service.
Today’s workshop brings that family approach together with the diagnostic equipment and technical knowledge modern cars need.

The workshop combines mechanical experience with in-house diagnostic software, wiring information, and programming and software updates for supported vehicles.
Angus’s passion also extends to historic motorsport, hill climbs and local circuit events in South Australia.
